Liposomal CBD Technology & Patents

Liposomal CBD is a high-quality natural hemp extract in liposomal formulation with a high content of CBD (Cannabidiol).
The CBD component is a non-psychoactive and highly researched for potentially positive medical effects researched in preclinical and clinical studies.

What is Cannabis?

The cannabis plant has apparently accompanied humanity from its very beginning, either as a medical based use for therapeutic purposes in many cultures for centuries or as an industrial plant which the main use is manufacturing ropes and fabric from the plant’s fiber.
Cannabis is made up of more than 120 components, which are known as cannabinoids.
Data about the effects of each cannabinoid is still mostly unknown, but they’re a good understanding and research about two of the cannabinoids, known as cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a Phyto-cannabinoid found in Cannabis is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis.
It does not exhibit the psychoactive effect as produced by THC.
CBD is an intensively researched cannabinoid and has a high medical potential.
CBD research suggests possible positive effects, the most intensive research has been conducted for areas such as:

  • Antipsychotic and antidepressant effects
  • Analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects
  • Antidiabetic effects
  • Anxiety-related disorders (Panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, GAD)
  • Prevention of epileptic seizures in some types of epilepsy
  • Anti-metastatic mechanism (inactivation of Id-1 and Id-3 genes, which allow the migration of cancer cells – metastasis)
  • Inhibition and prevention of tumor growth
  • Promotion of tumor cells apoptosis

What about THC?

THC cannabinoid has useful health benefits and may help with conditions
such as pain, muscle spasticity, insomnia, low appetite, nausea, etc.
Unfortunately, THC has a psychoactive effect.
In some individuals, the psychoactivity can cause some negative side effects, including anxiety, panic attacks, and general psychic discomfort.
However, this is the case majorly in individuals with a medical/family history of depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders when THC is used individually.
Due to its properties and side effects profile, we believe, it should be used only under medical doctor supervision.

CBD Studies

There have been many studies on the effect of CBD on cancer cells.
One study describes the effect of CB on apoptosis (Programmed Cell Death).
The study conducted and published in 2015 suggested that:
“Over the past decade, researchers have refocused their efforts on the therapeutic potential of non-psychotropic cannabinoids in CS, particularly, CBD.
As presented in this review, the preclinical data strongly support the notion that non-psychoactive plant-derived CBs can act as direct inhibitors of tumor progression as well as enhance the activity of first-line therapy. ”

Research published in 2012 review the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol in psychiatric disorders:
“CBD is a safe compound with a wide range of
therapeutic applications, including the treatment of
psychiatric disorders.
These findings make this drug an attractive candidate for future clinical use.
Its therapeutic use, however, has some limiting factors.
In addition to its low and variable oral bioavailability in
humans, it causes bell-shaped dose-response
curves and, judging from the studies with laboratory
animals possess a narrow therapeutic dose range.”

As reported in the study despite the medical potential of cannabidiol (CBD), the main problem is bioavailability.

The liposomal solution for CBD

Liposomal formulations technology is a carrier system for nutrients to increase bioavailability.
The liposome is a natural lipids coating around the nutrients, and they diffused in the cell membrane a process which significantly improves bioavailability.
Neo-Cure conducted a study comparing the liposomal version of Cannabis and other commercially available oil solution of Cannabis sativa plant extract with a high amount of CBD.
The study examined CBD in the blood plasma density for 24-hours, following the oral intake of human volunteers comparing liposomal CBD formulation and oil-based formulation.
The conclusion shows the CBD blood plasma concentration is 270% higher than the traditional CBD oil solution.
The liposomal technology enhances the health effects of the CBD component.
